Hello.

This platform is where I share my love for plant-based cooking & creating dishes with whole foods in rhythm with the seasons. My hope is that my love for cooking, photography and simple recipes will prompt you to want to prepare food more often particularly to build connections with those you love.

It is here that I also showcase my creative work with individuals & businesses who share similar values in the health and wellness space.

I am a Graphic Designer specialising in food photography, recipe development and design for brands offering nourishing and nutritious food to their community. I am also driven to support individuals and businesses in the mental health and design space.

I am an active Mother of two young girls who places achieving optimal health through whole foods amongst my top priorities. Through my journey, I’ve developed a strong understanding and appreciation for preparing wholesome food in its most natural state bringing it from the garden to table as simply as possible.

My why ?

My hope is that I will inspire anyone seeking support and inspiration in the kitchen. I also want to fuel connections within the home through food.

My overarching goal though is to restore the fading art of spending quality time together eating ‘à la bonne franquette’. Growing up in the French part of Canada, I’m filled with French sayings and this particular saying is tossed around a lot in our home. To me, eating ‘à la bonne franquette’ means eating a simple and informal meal that in many cases is improvised at a moments notice. It’s a meal shared with family and friends where everyone contributes to bringing it together. We sit, we eat, we laugh, we cry and we talk about the highs and the lows of the day. It’s the highlight of my day and this ritual is a major family value in our home.

Viewing food not only on how it fuels us, but also how it fosters a sense of community leaves me fascinated with the potential benefits tied to this relationship. Enter Dan Buettner, a National Geographic fellow, who travelled the world in search of the healthiest places on earth. Through his research and study, Dan and his team coined the term Blue Zones; that is, areas with the highest number of centenarians where people live the longest. He isolated 9 common lifestyle habits linking these 5 Blue Zones together. Three of these predictors of long life include finding the right tribe, possessing a sense of belongingness and putting loved ones first. Each of these factors is related to community!

With the awareness that community may contribute to lengthening our lifespan and simultaneously improving our health span, I have been driven to create a platform to share my learnings and bring together tribe of like-minded individuals focused on a shared goal of living long, full and connected lives.

Having worked closely with Chef Kate McAloon on recipe development, food styling and photography during her tenure as Personal Chef to Miranda Kerr, I learned fundamental principals to optimal and balanced health. Today, I continue to contribute to Miranda’s wellness brand, Kora Organics and to work with individuals and businesses who are passionate about developing products and services to drive optimal wellness.

Witnessing people in their flow where they are aligned to their true purpose, in whatever form that may be, is a magical experience. I truly feel this ‘flow’ in the kitchen and when working with like-minded wellness brands. I continue to feel aligned to my true purpose and my higher self while spreading wellness and beautifully curated imagery and design to others.

I am available for creative work including recipe development, content creation, food styling, photography and Graphic Design. If you have questions or want to start a conversation, contact me here or connect at hollyvkent [AT] gmail [DOT] com.

You can also find me regularly on Instagram and Kora Organics. I also encourage you to explore my website!

Whether it be working with you, showing you how to transform your diet or simply to provide you with a few recipes to weave into your existing diet, I’d love to for you to join me.
