NingXia Red Sunset Sangria Mocktail

NOTE This recipe makes 1 mocktail, but can easily be adapted to make for a group. The recipe can be doubled or tripled, as needed. It works really well in larger quantities served in a jug. You can prepare most of this mocktail recipe a few hours ahead, chill and simply add ice, sparkling apple juice, NingXia Zyng and garnishes right before serving.

MAKES 1 drink or several servings in a jug.

PREP TIME 5 – 10 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • ¼ cup (1 shot) orange juice

  • ¼ cup (1 shot) sparkling apple juice

  • ¼ cup (1 shot) Young Living NingXia Red

  • 4 drops culinary orange oil and/or tangerine oil, to taste

  • 2 drops culinary lemon oil, to taste

  • Young Living NingXia Zang, to finish topping up mocktail

  • ice cubes

  • 1 drop Young Living Citrus Fresh (optional, to taste)

Optional Garnishes

  • orange slices (and maybe a quarter slice for the rim too)

  • lime slices

  • strawberry slices

  • edible flowers and/or fresh mint, optional

METHOD (Individual Serving)

  1. You can make the mocktail by placing the ingredients into your desired glass.

Start by adding the ice cubes, then add sliced fruit. The idea is to decorate the mocktail using the ice to help keep things in place…don’t worry if the garnishes move around the drink - it still look and taste great. Next, add the liquid ingredients (excluding the NingXia Zyng which is added at the end). Leave a little room in the glass to stir with a cocktail mixing spoon. Finish the mocktail by topping with NingXia Zyng and/or more ice, if needed, to fill the glass.

  2. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and/or edible flowers. Serve immediately.

METHOD (For Mixing Larger Quantities)

  1. Place all mocktail ingredients in a shaker or glass jar with a lid and shake with the ice to combine. If using any sparkling juices/sodas add after shaking and stir to chill. Transfer to a large jug filled with ice and desired fruit garnishes.

  2. Line the insides of your glasses with citrus slices adding ice in the glass as you go to keep your fruit in place. Place a few sliced strawberries, mint leaves and edible flowers, if using, in the glass. The idea is to decorate the mocktail and use the ice to help keep things in place a little…don’t worry if they move around the drink will still look and taste great.

  3. Pour the mocktail into the glass and top with fresh mint and/or edible flowers. Serve immediately.
